Commute Trip Reduction Program

Employee Commute Trip Reduction Program
The City of Seattle Employee Commute Trip Reduction (CTR) Program encourages employees to use alternatives to driving alone to work. Employees who ride the bus, train, ferry, or participate in a vanpool are eligible for an ORCA card. Other elements of the City of Seattle CTR program include carpool, bicycling and walking to work, and using tele-work arrangements. Find out more at your employee commute options website - My Trips.

All ACTIVE City of Seattle employees, including positions classified as intern, intermittent and temporary are eligible for the transit benefit. There are no minimum hours required, and all groups may use ESS to enroll. *Sworn SPD officers and uniformed SFD officers are not eligible to receive the ORCA card.

Guaranteed Ride Home program
An important component of the CTR program is the Guaranteed Ride Home program. Guaranteed Ride Home provides reimbursement for up to 40 miles of taxi service per year for personal, family or medical emergencies to qualified employees. Employees who must work unexpected emergency overtime can also use the service with approval from their supervisor.

If eligible, you may park at the Seattle Municipal Tower or SeaPark for a reduced fee twice a month.

Visit the City's intranet site at My Trips to learn more about the Commute Trip Reduction program.
