Community Center Stabilization
Thank you from Seattle Parks and Recreation to the community for your input on this project and your patience during the construction. Construction was completed in late May with everyone moved in and the facility reopened in mid-June 2022.
Thank you everyone who stopped by our booth at the Beacon Hill Festival on June 1, 2019. It was great to show you what we have planned for the community center and hear your thoughts on the project. You can view the schematic design we presented below. We welcome any additional input you may have.
Jefferson Community Center was identified in the 2016 Community Center Strategic plan for a major maintenance project focused on extending the life of the facility and increasing programming potential. A preliminary scope of the project is outlined below. The final scope is expected to be refined throughout the design process based on more information about cost and needs. Seattle Parks and Recreation planning staff are meeting with the community center Advisory Council to review the scope and schedule.

Project Description
This project addresses a number of major maintenance, accessibility, and program needs at Jefferson Community Center. It will include renovation of the restrooms, kitchen and lobby spaces in addition to upgrades to the electrical distribution and plumbing systems, installation of a lift to provide wheelchair access to the second floor, and relocation of the teen room from the basement to the main floor. It will also convert a dark room to a restroom on the second floor for use by preschool programs.
