Wallingford Playfield Play Area Renovation

Updated: September 4, 2018

Summer/Fall 2018

Thank you to everyone who joined Seattle Parks and Recreation staff at the July 10 community meeting and reviewed options for new play equipment types and styles. Your participation was appreciated. See below to view meeting documents.

We are installing new play equipment at the Wallingford Play Area, located at the northeast corner of Wallingford Playfield. This project will replace play area equipment due to insect infestation in old equipment. The new play equipment will meet current national safety standards and assure accessibility to children of all abilities, ages 2-5 and 5-12. Access improvements will be made to the play area, if needed, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

During construction the contractor will need to close the play area. Seattle Parks and Recreation and the contractor hired for the project will work to minimize impact to the neighborhood.
