Lakewood Playground Park Play Area Renovation

Updated: April 15, 2021

Spring 2021

On Monday, April 19, 2021, Seattle Parks and Recreation will close the Lakewood Park play area for the upcoming renovation construction. The long-awaited play area renovation project will replace the play structure, improve access from multiple directions and provide new wood chip surfacing throughout the play area. In addition to the play area improvements, several benches will be added on the west side of the pathway to provide viewing to both the play area and the playfield. The community tiled wall adjacent to the play area will remain in place.

The contractor on the project, L.W. Sundstrom, anticipates the play area will open in mid-August 2021.
