Dearborn Park Play Area Renovation

We are renovating the play area at Dearborn Park! The project is focused on installing new play equipment and improving access to the play area. The following survey is an opportunity to share your ideas about the play area.

Dearborn Park - Play Area Renovation Survey

To meet current play area safety standards, Seattle Parks and Recreation will replace the existing play equipment with equipment that is accessible to children of all abilities. Additionally, site accessibility improvements that meet the standards from the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) will be made.

Budget

The Real Estate Excise Tax fund provides $557,000 for planning, design, and construction of the project.

Construction: Fall 2021

Project Description

This project replaces the play equipment with equipment that is accessible to children of all abilities. Additionally, site accessibility improvements that meet the standards from the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) will be made.

During construction the contractor will need to close the play area portion of the park. Seattle Parks and Recreation and the contractor hired for the project will work to minimize impact to the neighborhood.
