Crown Hill Workshop #2 FlyerMarch 3 Community Workshop: Explore & Design
At the March 3 workshop, we will be exploring ideas that address what you told us were community priorities.

The workshop will consist of three, thirty-minute work sessions to allow attendees to rotate among three stations, each on a different theme: urban design & public realm; transportation; building community & neighborhood identity.

Results from Phase I: Share, Learn & Vision

Thank you for sharing your thoughts in community priorities and opportunities in the online survey! Over 220 people responded to help us identify what is in the area now, what the community needs, and how they want to see things improved. See the results here.

We hosted our first community workshop on October 13. If you couldn't make it, you can view PDFs of the boards and email comments to CrownHillPlan@seattle.gov.

Project Goals

The City and community will work to develop a Community Action Plan that identifies priority issues and opportunities in the neighborhood. The plan will result in recommendations and specific steps the City and community can soon take to foster a vibrant, walkable, and healthy neighborhood.

We've heard the following themes during previous community conversations, and will continue to engage with the community on these and other issues:

  • Create a walkable town center with a variety of businesses and services
  • Improve pedestrian and bicycle connections, especially to parks and schools
  • Foster safe, and engaging public spaces and streetscapes
  • Add and retain affordable housing in the neighborhood
  • Improve stormwater drainage
  • Ensure the design and scale of new development complements the neighborhood

Get Involved

We are working to identify several key focus and priority areas based on the community discussions we've had so far. At our next workshop on March 3 (12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. at the Crown Hill Center), we will continue to work with you to explore, develop, and refine strategies for the Crown Hill Action Plan.

We have a variety of online tools where you can learn about the project and process, identify key concerns and opportunities for improvement in the neighborhood, and help guide the vision for Crown Hill in the future:

Your feedback will help guide community priorities and future investments in the neighborhood.

We will be hosting a series of four Community Workshops during October 2018 - June 2019 to collaborate in developing an action plan around key priorities and to guide growth and coordinate investments in livability in the Crown Hill Urban Village.
