The Women and Minority-owned Business Enterprise Program Office seeks to:
● Encourage businesses to register their business using the
Online Business Directory
● Encourage women and minority owned businesses
to bid on blanket contracts, consultant Request For Proposals
(RFPs), and public works solicitations
● Share information regarding City Light's procurement policies and
procedures
● Create increased awareness and promote the inclusion of women
and minority-owned firms in City Light's day-to-day procurement
opportunities
● Ensure that City Light units make a good faith effort to utilize women
and minority-owned firms
● Ensure prime contractors on City Light projects provide subcontracting
opportunities to women and minority-owned businesses
through use of the City's Inclusion Plan
● Assist City Light in achieving an aspirational goal of 13%
for combined consulting and purchasing expenditures with WMBE

School of Business to provide technical assistance to WMBE firms
