Rental Assistance

Now Open: Rental Assistance through United Way of King County

Since April 2020, United Way has provided rent assistance to more than 10,000 households impacted by the COVID-19 health crisis.

Applications for rent assistance is now open! For individuals or households needing rental assistance, visit https://www.uwkc.org/renthelp/ to register for the Tenant Pool. Each week, King County will randomly select registered tenants to participate in the program. Weekly selections will continue until all funds are disbursed.

Systems for Prioritizing Assistance

  1. United Way of King County: Seattle is partnering with King County's Tenant Pool program and all households who apply through the program are pre-screened for income at or below 50% AMI.
  2. Affordable Housing Providers: Rent assistance will be provided to tenants of rent- and income-restricted housing. At least three-quarters of these households have incomes at or below 50% AMI.
  3. Community Based Organization Partners: Community-based organizations are prioritizing funds for households with incomes at or below 50% AMI and/or those who have been unemployed for at least 90 days. Organizations are tailoring these strategies to address the cultural needs of the communities they serve.
