Born and raised in Seattle's District 4, Geri Morris joins Councilmember Pacheco's office after a career in nonprofit arts fundraising, most recently for Pacific Northwest Ballet. There Geri discovered, among other things, a true passion for building relationships with its patrons and she couldn't be more excited to continue that line of work by focusing on constituent relations and communications for Councilmember Pacheco.

Geri received her undergraduate degree in both Vocal Performance and Business from Colby College, and while she enjoyed her stint in Waterville, Maine, was thrilled to return to the West Coast to earn her masters in Arts Leadership from Seattle University. Geri loves this city to the core of her being and is excited to help make the process of civic engagement that much more efficient and enjoyable.

In her spare time Geri serves on the board of Northwest Girlchoir, sings with the Seattle Symphony Chorale, enjoys taking advantage of the Pacific Northwest's abundance of outdoor offerings, and is in her happiest state in the kitchen, baking in the company of friends or family.

Karlene, raised in Tacoma, holds a Bachelor of Arts in both Political Science and French from Western Washington University. She moved from Bellingham to Seattle after graduating in 2011 and has since loved living in Capitol Hill. Her first grassroots political experience began with volunteering for Planned Parenthood Votes Northwest & Hawaii and joined Washington United for Marriage as a field organizer, the campaign that successfully passed marriage equality at the ballot box. She then lived in Alaska organizing support for the Federal Employment Non Discrimination Act and successfully lobbied Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski's support of the legislation, with the Senator citing the grassroots field efforts as swaying her support. She has since worked on several campaigns focusing on electing progressive, nonpartisan candidates and Democrats up and down the ballot in the South Puget Sound and Olympic Peninsula, for Senator Patty Murray and most recently as Rep. Derek Kilmer's campaign manager. Karlene is excited to be working for the City of Seattle after living in here for 8 years. Outside of work, Karlene enjoys running, hiking, spending time outside with her husband in parks and beautiful public spaces in and around Seattle and the Pacific Northwest, utilizing public transit, rooting on Seattle's local sports teams, and visiting with her family in Tacoma where she has four adorable and hilarious nieces and nephews. Karlene also loves all animals, but especially dogs.
