Kirsten Harris-Talley

I have a deep love for Seattle.  I believe the role of government is to represent the people, to advocate for the peoples' needs and to champion policy that raises up our most vulnerable.  Together, community and government collaboration can be a catalyst for change.

I moved to Seattle since 1999, first on Capitol Hill and later in Rainier Valley, where my husband and I are proud to raise our two children in the Hillman City neighborhood.     My proven track record of experience and more than fifteen years of work as a facilitator and advocate have prepared me for service as your Seattle City Councilmember.  Through my involvement with #BlockTheBunker and #NoNewYouthJail I have developed a deeper understanding of the city budget, and how the investments we choose impact people and their daily lives. I will serve as Councilmember in Position 8 until King County certifies the 2017 general election results, and I will use all 51 days of my term to serve the people of Seattle.
