Committee Scope

To provide policy direction and oversight and to deliberate and make recommendations on legislative matters relating to: regional, state, federal, and other governmental matters including Charter review, the Office of Intergovernmental Relations, and rules of the City Council; issues related to governance and racial and social equity in underserved communities; City information technology planning, implementation, and organization; cable telecommunications services and planning; broadband telecommunications planning and implementation; technology grants; Seattle Channel;; and citizen technology literacy and access; ethics and elections; taxi, transportation network companies, and for-hire industry; and youth justice, alternatives to youth detention, and alternative housing options to youth incarceration.

Meet the Council

The Seattle City Council establishes City policy through enactment of ordinances (laws) and adoption of resolutions. The City Council also approves and adopts the City's budget. The nine Council members and their legislative assistants are part of the City of Seattle Legislative Department.
