Training
Fair Housing - Our sessions are part of Renting in Seattle in collaboration with Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections. The hour and a half fair housing portion of the class provides an overview of housing discrimination, unconscious bias, alternative source of income, and fair chance housing. We will post event information on our calendar when we receive information from Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections.
Fair Chance Housing - This hour-long session gives an overview of the Fair Chance Housing Ordinance, which took effect in February 2018. Learn about what has to be on an application, when a housing provider can look at a sex offender registry, how to advertise, and more.
Civil Rights 101 - This hour-long session gives an overview of our enforcement work. This includes discrimination in employment, public places, housing, and contracting. It also includes civil rights protections like All-Gender Restrooms and the Ban on the Use of Conversion Therapy on Minors.
Private Sessions - If you want us to train a private group, contact us at discriminationquestions@seattle.gov. Please be aware that we prioritize groups of 50 or more because of limited trainer capacity.
We offer additional training options. If you don't see what you need in the descriptions above, contact us at discriminationquestions@seattle.gov.
