Attention! As you may be aware, WSDOT will permanently close the Alaskan Way Viaduct on Jan. 11, 2019, beginning the Seattle Squeeze. As the ability to travel to the Seattle Municipal Tower to conduct business will be constrained during the SR 99 shutdown and beyond, we highly encourage our customers take advantage of our online portal, FileLocal, which allows businesses to apply for a new license, renew an existing license, file taxes and make business information changes. Our office will be open during normal business hours, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. If you must come in, plan for potential travel delays, especially during the typical peak morning and afternoon commute times.

Regulatory endorsements

The City of Seattle regulates taxis, adult entertainment, towing companies and some other business types. These businesses require both a standard business license tax certificate and a regulatory endorsement added to the license tax certificate.
