Your actions make a difference!

By 2017 SDOT will install:

  • 6,000 bicycle racks.
  • A bicycle network of 454.8 miles of lane markings including:
    • 143.3 miles of bicycle and climbing lanes
    • 110.5 miles of shared lane pavement markings (sharrows)
    • 18.1 bicycles boulevards
    • 46.1 miles of other on-road bicycle facilities such as paved shoulders, wide outside lanes, edge lines and peak hour bus/bicycle only roads
    • 58.2 multi-use trails
    • 2.6 miles of sidepaths, one-way bike-on-sidewalk pairs, and pedestrian/bicycle-only bridges

SDOT is also developing:

  • A program of multi-purpose trail maintenance activities including:
  • Improving drainage
  • Trimming vegetation
  • Replacing damaged pavement
  • Replacing signs
  • Inspecting trail and other structures for problems
  • Providing adequate lighting
  • Creating a volunteer schedule to clean trash and debris from trails.

 

Drive 1,000 miles less this year and reduce your carbon footprint by 1,000 pounds of CO2.
