Hop on your bike or take a walk: a new Way to Go, Seattle.

By 2017, there will be 230 miles of signed bicycle routes in Seattle including routes that connect urban villages, transit stations and parks to other communities in the Puget Sound Region. We are making it easier to ride your bike.

Your actions make a difference

Bicycling - Don’t forget to wear a helmet when you ride a bike.

Request a map showing bike lanes, paths and streets commonly used by cyclists.

Meet up with a bike mentor to review equipment, map a route, or take a test ride with you.

Extend the distance you can travel by linking up with the bus.

Learn the rules of the rode by reviewing bicycle traffic codes.

Walking - Look both ways before you cross the road.

Let us know if there is something we can do to make your walking experience better like repainting crosswalks, trimming overgrown brush, or reporting vehicles parked on the sidewalk.

Learn the rules of the road by reviewing the rules for pedestrians.
