Welcome to the Commuter Cash website
The Commuter Cash program has 2 options:
1. Commuter Cash: Stop driving alone to work and earn up to $150.
2. Refer-A-Friend to the program and earn $20 per successful referral.
You may sign up for one or both options if you are eligible.
1. Commuter Cash
Stop driving alone to work and earn up to $150
- Stop driving alone to work 5 days per week on average for one year and earn $150. You may reduce 2 to 4 days of drive-alone commuting per week or reduce drive-alone commuting for less than one year to earn a pro-rated amount of $150.
- Eligibility: Anyone who, before they heard about this program, was driving alone to work at least two days per week is eligible. If you were already commuting without driving alone 4 days per week on average before you heard about the program, you are not eligible for the program. This is because the purpose of the program is to inspire people to reduce drive-alone commuting rather than to reward people who had already decided to reduce their drive-alone commuting anyway. If you fall into the second category, however, you are eligible for "Refer-a-Friend" incentives, below.
- Timeline: The one year of reduced driving must be completed by April of 2009.
- Supplies of incentives are limited, so sign up soon!
2. Refer-a-Friend and earn $20 per person
- Get a friend to participate in Commuter Cash and you'll earn $20. The person you refer must reduce their drive-alone commuting at least two days per week on average for three months.
- Eligibility: The Refer-a-Friend incentive is open to anyone, regardless of their commute habits. So if you've already been busing, walking, biking, etc., you are not eligible for the Commuter Cash incentive, but you can receive Refer-a-Friend incentives. Just inspire your friends to follow your lead and stop driving to work.
- Limits: You may refer up to twenty people. Two people can not refer each other.
