Find another use
If your appliance is in good, usable condition, you may be able to sell, exchange or donate it. Look in the Yellow Pages under used appliances or see “Links to other sites” below.

At your house or apartment
Dispose of appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, dryers, trash compactors, freezers and washing machines by arranging and paying for a bulky item collection. If you live in an apartment or condo, talk to you building manager about arranging and paying for a bulky item pickup
At the Recycling and Disposal Stations
Hot water heaters, with all insulation removed, can be recycled for no charge.
There is a charge for large appliances, limit two per load. Unusable small appliances are accepted as regular garbage.
Freezers and refrigerators: remove food and any doors that have latches.
