Hazardous Waste

Do not put hazardous waste in your garbage can. Hazardous items are usually labeled Danger, Poison, Caution or Warning.

Household Hazardous Waste
You can take hazardous products used in your home to the Hazardous Waste Facilities. See Where to Dispose of Hazardous Waste for hours and locations.

Commercial Hazardous Waste
See the King County Local Hazardous Waste Program for ways to dispose of hazardous products used at your business.

Reduce hazardous products in your home
  • • Buy less toxic products, and/or buy only the amount you will use.
  • • Choose safe cleaning products for your home.
  • • Use natural pest, weed and disease control in your yard, and natural lawn care techniques to reduce your use of fertilizers, pesticides, and other hazardous chemicals.
  • • Use up hazardous products or give them to someone who can use them.
  • • Dispose of products safely.
