Do not put hazardous waste in your garbage can. Hazardous items are usually labeled Danger, Poison, Caution or Warning.

Reduce hazardous products in your home
- • Buy less toxic products, and/or buy only the amount you will use.
- • Choose safe cleaning products for your home.
- • Use natural pest, weed and disease control in your yard, and natural lawn care techniques to reduce your use of fertilizers, pesticides, and other hazardous chemicals.
- • Use up hazardous products or give them to someone who can use them.
- • Dispose of products safely.
