Large Event Recycling
For recycling at large events follow these easy steps:
1. After determining who will coordinate and implement your recycling efforts, contact an SPU staff at (206) 615-1700. We help you to:
- • Evaluate event waste stream composition and what appropriate steps to take
- • Design a system for collecting and transporting trash and recyclables
- • Give guidance on how to provide recycling education for your staff, vendors, and event participants.
2. Contact city waste haulers and recyclers for professional advice and cost estimates about appropriate recycling services for your event such as:
- • Delivery and use of containers and/or dumpsters for collecting event recyclables and trash
- • Transportation of recyclables and trash to a recycling and disposal station.
Have a great event, and see how much you have diverted from the landfill afterwards! Please let SPU staff know how many people attended your event and how many tons of material was recycled by calling: (206) 615-1700.
