Most discarded waste items are safe to throw away, including:

  • • Alkaline Batteries (AA, C, D, etc.)
Special and unacceptable items include:

  • • Animal excrement
  • • Appliances, refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, dryers, trash compactors, freezers and washing machines
  • • Loose ashes, sawdust, vacuum cleaner dust, cat litter, styrofoam packing pellets or similar lightweight material
