What Is a Properly Closed or Opened Utility Account?
An account is properly closed when
- • meter reading information is received,
- • account information is verified,
- • a forwarding address is provided for the closing bill within 14 days of turning in the keys which prohibits occupancy.
An account is properly opened when
- • meter reading information is received,
- • full and accurate account information is provided within 14 days of receiving the keys which allows the customer to gain access to a residence.
