What Are the Meter Reading Options?
To open or close your water/ garbage/ sewer account
- • Read your own water meter on the day you move. If you read the meter on a different day, Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) may prorate the reading based on the average daily consumption.
- • Have SPU read it for a $74.00 fee.
To open or close an an electric account
- • Read your own meter.
- • Have City Light read it for a $33.00 fee.
- • Accept an estimated meter reading based on previous consumption history at the property. Estimating is a free service.
