How to recycle

Rocks or Gravel

Gravel in good condition may be accepted by local salvaged building material businesses.

In garbage

Rocks and gravel can go in your garbage if they don’t exceed the weight limits printed on your bin, and fit in your bin with the lid completely closed. No individual rock should be larger than 2 feet by 2 feet.

Transfer station

Bring rocks and gravel to city transfer stations. They are charged as garbage. Charge for garbage is $145 per ton, minimum charge of $30 covers up to 420 lbs.

Decrease waste: Choose reusable items or donate to thrift stores.
