Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) Restoration
Submit signed Water Service Application and Water Agreement with signature
If you designate SPU as the street restorer, SPU will provide you with your final fee. Additional fees will apply if there are changes in the scope of work, design or location of the new services.
Pay fees associated with water service installation and street restoration
The money collected from the contractor/owner for street restoration covers the charges billed by SPU's contractors to SPU and this cost is collected with the purchase of a new water service.
The Street Restoration Rules are based on the pre-existing conditions of the street at the new water service location, the number of street openings required for SPU to complete the installation work and the type of paving material.
The street restoration requirements, and fee to restore, are based on a pre-installation site inspection by SPU estimators.
Changes to approved plans by the customer will require resubmittal of the plans and may affect the restoration fee.
All charges are based off of the Utility Cut Rate Sheet for Seattle Department of Transportation and will include applicable state and City taxes.
Can I meet with an SPU inspector on site?
Yes, inspectors will arrange to meet at your jobsite to answer questions. The SPU Inspector may be able to suggest new tap location(s) or to identify opportunities to share restoration costs that will reduce the overall number of street openings and restoration charges. This should be discussed with the SPU Inspector to coordinate the site meeting.
