Clearwell Water Storage

  • Clearwell reservoirs hold treated water.

Following the introduction of any chemical disinfecting agent, e.g., chlorine, the treated water is held in temporary storage reservoirs – two circular concrete tanks called clearwells – to allow the disinfecting action to complete and to meet fluctuations in demand. Also, two storage units allow for the facility to remain in service while inspections and maintenance take place in one unit.
