2007 Water System Plan
Seattle Public Utilities’ (SPU) 2007 Water System Plan includes important policies for drinking water services, as well as plans for:
- Ensuring long-term high-quality water supply while protecting instream resources
- Using asset management principles in business decisions throughout the utility to stretch available resources and make best use of our existing assets in the long-term
- Continuing to be a leader in water conservation
- Being customer-driven and
- Working together with other regional water providers to address regional water issues
Plan review and adoption
SPU released the 2007 Water System Plan Public Review Draft on July 20, 2006. The draft plan, along with recommended changes to address the comments received on the plan, was reviewed by Mayor Greg Nickels and the Seattle City Council. In December 2006 City Council approved Ordinance 122309 to adopt the plan with the recommended changes. Washington Department of Health approved the final plan in April 2007.
