Pill bottles such as aspirin or vitamin bottles are recyclable.
Prescription medicine vials are not recyclable - the plastic is too brittle. Please discard the clear-plastic vials as garbage.
To prevent misuse of medicines and pollution of the environment, please do not put leftover medicines in the garbage or down the drain, unless no other option exists. Visit one of the voluntary medicine take-back locations (pdf) that are part of the Secure Medicine Return program or call the Household Hazards Line at (206) 296-4692.
