SPU shared an overview of the work completed to date and identified potential approaches for improving sewer service and reducing health and safety risks related to stormwater flooding in the area. Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is working in areas of the Broadview neighborhood to make improvements in the functioning of the sewer and drainage systems, as well as to improve water quality. For the original presentation about the project from April 2011, view project presentation (pdf).
SPU currently has three projects in the Broadview area focused on these issues, including two pilot projects to test some methods for meeting some of our goals for the neighborhood:
- Sewer and Stormwater Improvements
- Piper’s Creek Flow Control
- Venema Creek Natural Drainage System
