Restoration

The HCP values the preservation and restoration of habitat for multiple species. The City of Seattle has been working to restore aquatic and terrestrial habitats of the Cedar River watershed since 2000. The Cedar River Municipal watershed is designated as an ecological reserve. The area is protected from human use and disturbance. This is a rare attribute in our region, providing benefits beyond the watershed boundaries. Restoration and protection occur in aquatic and upland habitats.
