School Recycling & Waste Reduction Grants
SPU is working directly with the Seattle Public School District to increase composting and recycling in public schools. The School District will provide schools with compostable bags, waste bins, outreach materials, and other supplies and support for implementing, stabilizing, and improving compost and recycling programs.
See the School District’s guide for information on How to Start a Food Waste Compost Program at School (pdf).
Public schools interested in receiving support should contact Rina Fa’amoe at (206) 252-0618 or email@example.com.
SPU is no longer providing recycling and waste reduction grants to private schools. However, private schools are eligible to receive free compost, recycling, and garbage bins, posters and stickers through SPU’s Resource Venture program.
To request these free resources or ask questions about recycling and composting, please call (206) 343-8505 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
