Recycling Processing Request for Proposals

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) will be requesting proposals for Recycling Processing Services to start April 1, 2016. The Request for Proposal will pertain to processing Seattle’s approximately 85,000 tons per year of recyclables collected from apartments, residents and small businesses. The processing services do not include recyclables collected from businesses by independent open market haulers.

Long Haul Disposal Contract

Seattle contracts with Washington Waste Systems for the transportation and disposal of the City's solid waste. The waste is transported by rail to the Columbia Ridge Landfill and Recycling Center in Gilliam County, Oregon.
