School Program Registration - For Teachers

CRW School Programs

Seattle Public Utilities Cedar River Watershed Education Center offers free 4th and 5th grade naturalist-led watershed education field programs to public and private schools in the spring and fall.

2012-2013 school year registration schedule

One coordinating teacher is required to submit registration application requests on behalf of their school. This online form will let you register for up to four different classes on two different program days for the entire 2012-2013 school year.

Please take the time to coordinate with your team and call us at the center (206) 733-9421 if you have questions prior to submitting this application.

Our Programs

Our two 4th and 5th grade fieldtrip options consist of the Seeing the Source program, where seeing and discovering our mountain fed drinking water supply is the primary learning objective and the center-based Land and Water program, which explores hands-on connections between land, water and people.

Both programs meet the Washington State K-12 Integrated Environmental and Sustainability Education Learning Standards in relation to water cycling, water conservation and watershed education.

Program registration process

If you are interested in signing up multiple classes from the same school we ask that a designated coordinating teacher represent the entire school. Each school may register a maximum of four classes per school-year. Each school's coordinating teacher will act as the contact person when registering programs and communicating details. An alternate coordinating teacher is also required. Each school's coordinating teacher can fill out a fieldtrip application and submit their program requests between June 1 and August 10, 2012. By August 21, all coordinating teachers will receive an email packet providing registration details, a lottery order number, and the exact time and date you will need to call back to reserve your program(s) dates.

Your assigned call-in date and time will be on either August 28, August 29 for non-Seattle schools and August 30, August 31 for Seattle Public schools. Call-in times will be in 15-minute time slots. On your call-back day, you will have access to a calendar of available program dates from which to choose.
