Heritage Library
Interested in Pacific Northwest History?
Do you like working with people?
Would you like to be instrumental in preserving 100 years worth of history in the municipal Cedar River Watershed?
The Education Center is currently recruiting volunteers for the Heritage Library, which holds artifacts from Seattle's most important watershed. Volunteers will staff the library, greet visitors, preserve artifacts, and do individual research.
Special projects
Currently, volunteers are needed to help with a Botanical Resources Inventory to document and monitor the types and distribution of plant life in the watershed.
Hosts
Meet and greet visitors, answer questions, assist in the sales area and other reception duties. Hosts have a strong influence on the visitors’ experience.
Docents
Answer questions, lead specific education programs and capitalize on teachable moments. They may be in the Education Center, on the grounds, or at Rattlesnake Lake.
Facility Volunteers
Assist with a wide variety of duties including litter patrol, nerf ball control, office work and special projects. These volunteers will play a vital role in keeping the Education Center running.
