Taylor Creek

Urban Creeks Legacy projects in the Taylor Creek watershed include:

    1. Fish-friendly culverts and creek-restoration near Dead Horse Canyon in Lakeridge Park completed in 1999, and another culvert to be replaced closer to the mouth of the creek.
    2. New trails and a bridge built in the park in 1999, in partnership with CascadiaQuest.
Also, in partnership with King County, water runoff detention in the upper watershed where the creek's headwaters are located will be increased.

Taylor Creek facts

  • • Hemlock and alder trees, some hundreds of years old, grow fifty feet tall in the canyon
  • • A trail parallels the creek and crosses over numerous small tributaries.
  • • Cedar logs used to be cut at a sawmill at the mouth of the creek
