Awards and Publications
Seattle Public Utilities’s natural drainage systems (NDS) program has received national and international attention and accolades. Most notably, the NDS program received the prestigious Innovations in American Government Award from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in 2004. The award is often referred to as the Oscars of government and included a grant of $100,000 to help expand the NDS program.
