Broadview Green Grid Virtual Tour
Broadview Green Grid in Context
This Natural Drainage Systems (NDS) project spans 16 blocks of a residential neighborhood in northwest Seattle. The project is located adjacent to the 110th Cascade Project, within the Pipers Creek watershed. The SEA Street prototype project is located in the same watershed, just 10 blocks to the north of the Broadview Green Grid.
The virtual tour shows selected locations within the extensive project area. Before construction, the informal drainage network carried stormwater runoff through a series of ditches and culverts down the hillside toward Pipers Creek, causing erosion and impeding absorption of rainwater by the landscape.

Now the topography, infrastructure, and landscape have been re-designed to meet Seattle Public Utilities' goals for Natural Drainage Systems, including improvements in ecology, safety, and aesthetics.
