Wallingford Neighborhood Greenway Seattle’s First Neighborhood Greenway is Now Complete SDOT worked closely with the community and the volunteer coalition Seattle Neighborhood Greenways to find solutions for making N 43rd and N 44th streets between Stone Way N and Latona Avenue NE friendlier for all travelers. Traffic calming improvements include adding a green bike box(es) at 43rd/Wallingford, 44th/Latona, and 44th/Thackery; constructing a median at 43rd and Stone Way; adding on-street parking and installing signs to reinforce existing parking restrictions; as well as the addition of new directional signs and pavement markings. The new Greenway provides access to Wallingford Center, Wallingford Playfield, Hamilton International School and the school programs located in the Lincoln High School building. It also offers an alternative route to using busier N 45th Street. Read the press release here and check out our short video of the Saturday, June 16 Ribbon Cutting.
