Culture Fest Weekend

Tell your neighbors, tell your friends! Saturday, August 17 is a Picnic in the Street along Rainier! This free event opens the city's largest public space - its streets - so people can walk, bike, roll, run, skip and shop - without having to watch out for cars! Summer Streets is partnering with the Rainier Chamber of Commerce, the 21st Annual Rainier Valley Heritage Parade and the Columbia City Business Association for some good old fashioned fun.

This year’s theme is “Eat in the Street.” Bring your blanket, lawn chairs and picnic basket and lounge along Rainier. Restaurants will be serving picnic food and expect to have of fun playing lawn games. We are also teaming up with the Columbia City Gallery for Art in the Alley and Jack Timmons and the Royal Room plan on hosting the second annual BBQ Cook-off.

Interested in being an exhibitor? Visit our Get Involved page and fill out an application.

Volunteer

Summer Streets are not possible without volunteers! Be a ‘promotion organizer’ building buzz before events, a ‘creative organizer’ of event activities like bike parades and interactive art, or volunteer the day of helping hundreds of Seattleites enjoy Summer Streets. Email Summer.Streets@Seattle.gov and let us know how you can help.
