Stone Way N Street Paving Work
June 29, 2007
Construction Update -
Next Week: Final Paving on Stone Way N
SEATTLE--SDOT’s contractor plans to perform final paving next week on Stone Way North between North 34th Street and North 45th Street. This project is funded by the “Bridging the Gap” transportation initiative approved by Seattle voters in November 2006.
If weather is favorable, the northbound lanes will be paved on Monday and Tuesday, July 2 and 3. The southbound lanes will be paved on Thursday and Friday, July 5 and 6. There will be no work on July 4. Traffic signal detector loops will be installed the week of July 9. The entire project is scheduled for completion mid July.
Background:
The City's Arterial Asphalt and Concrete Program resurfaces a number of streets each year. Stone Way N between N 34th Street and N 45th Street, is scheduled for 2007. This project is funded by the "Bridging the Gap" Transportation Initiative approved by Seattle voters in November 2006.
This project will improve the pavement condition and will improve accessibility by installing new and upgrading existing curb ramps, to meet current standards. In general, the paving will involve grinding the top two (2) inches of the asphalt surface, repairing the concrete base pavement where needed, and then re-paving with a two (2)-inch asphalt overlay.
