Drive slow, middle schoolers are among us

It's up to all of us to keep them safe.

Seattle has middle schools all over the city, and sometimes located near high speed, heavy traffic-filled streets. With two new schools opening this fall, you never know when a middle schooler might be coming around the corner.

Tips to remember when the school session begins:

  1. Drive slower in school zones
  2. Be on the lookout for tweens
  3. Yield to pedestrians

SDOT's Safe Routes to School is promoting safe driving around schools. Look out for our ads around town and on social media.

This campaign is part of our Vision Zero and Safe Routes to School work.
