The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) formed a Seawall Stakeholder Subgroup to provide perspectives and recommendations to the project team for the Elliott Bay Seawall Project. The subgroup considered topics related to the design of the new seawall and potential construction impacts of the project. The group met once a month, receiving and responding to concepts and ideas prepared by the project team. All meetings have been open to the public, and the information presented at the stakeholder meetings is in the project library.

The Seawall Stakeholder Subgroup has become part of the full Central Waterfront Stakeholder Group, which began meeting in January 2011, serving as a bridge between the seawall project and Waterfront Seattle. The subgroup is comprised of waterfront business owners and tenants, professionals from the design and environmental fields, representatives from the Port of Seattle and Washington State Ferries, and downtown community members and residents.
