Keeping Seattle Moving
Planning around Light Rail stations

The city is launching an effort to update neighborhood plans where transit stations have been built, including areas along Martin Luther King, Jr. Way S and on Beacon Hill. Updates are happening because these neighborhoods are home to light-rail stations and experiencing, or expecting significant new population and business growth. The effort builds on the station area planning that began in 1998 and was completed in 2001.

The update process is a partnership between stakeholders in the neighborhood and the City, with City staff providing technical expertise. Visit the Department of Planning's web site to learn more and find out how you can be involved.
