The Seattle Light Rail Station Area Atlas presents maps, diagrams, photographs, tables, and other key information about each light rail station area identified by Sound Transit's Locally-Preferred Alternative. The Atlas is intended to complement the Station Area Profiles found in the Background Report for Light Rail Station Area Planning in Seattle (January 1999). The Atlas includes the following information for each station area:
- Aerial photograph of existing conditions (1993)
- Map of existing land uses and tabulation of acreage in each land use category
- Map of existing zoning districts and opportunity sites for transit-oriented development
- Map of urban design opportunities and constraints
- Summary statistics, including dwelling units, commercial floor area, residential density, market trends, growth projections, and population and employment with and without light rail transit (LRT)
- Proposed station location and alignment
- Highlights of issues raised in the neighborhood planning process
- Photographs that convey the scale and character of the station area
- Summary of potential development strategies.
