Seattle Board of Park Commissioners

The Seattle Board of Park Commissioners is a volunteer advisory board established by ordinance. The board consults with and makes recommendations to City Council, the mayor, and the superintendent regarding the Parks and Recreation Departments policies for the planning, development and use of the citys park and recreation facilities. The Board of Park Commissioners is a seven-member citizen advisory board, serving three-year terms. The composition of the board is:

  • Three members appointed by the mayor and confirmed by City Council
  • Three members appointed by City Council
  • One member appointed by these six board members
