Restricted Parking Zone (RPZ) Online Permitting Online Application Process Overview
Welcome to the Seattle Department of Transportation RPZ Online Permitting Site. This site is a secure, web-based system that allows customers to apply and pay for certain types of RPZ permits. The application process will consist of the following steps:
Creating an Account for a Renewal You will need to provide the following information:
The time required to create your account will be only a few minutes and your account will be activated instantaneously. You may use this account again, if all the information remains the same. Once your online account has been created, you will be able to apply for your permit(s). Indicating the Application Type The online permitting system is used for both Restricted Parking Zone (RPZ) and Street Use permits. You will select “Restricted Parking Zone - RPZ”. Indicating the Permit Type The online permitting system allows you to select:
Vehicle Information Confirm, add and/or edit your vehicle information. Your vehicle must be registered to you, at the RPZ-eligible address. If SDOT is unable to verify that your vehicle is registered at the address for which you applied for an RPZ permit, you will receive an email notification with instructions to contact SDOT Traffic Permits counter. If you need t o update your address with the Washington State Department of Licensing online, visit: http://www.dol.wa.gov/vehicleregistration/changeaddress.html. Paying Fees If there are fees associated with your permit(s), you may use our secure website to pay all fees with a Visa or MasterCard. Printing the 10-Day Temporary Permit Once you have paid any fees, you will be able to print a temporary “10-day” permit(s) for use if you have an expired permit, or if you are a new permit holder. Please place it on the driver’s side dashboard of the vehicle. The permanent Decal and/or Guest permit will be mailed to you within 10 calendar days. Privacy Policy, Indemnity Agreement, Acceptance of Terms When you apply online, you agree to the following: City of Seattle Privacy Policy All information submitted to the City of Seattle in this transaction is considered to be public information, with the exception of credit card information that you may provide to pay fees. Indemnification The Permit holder agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the City of Seattle, its officials, officers, employees and agents against: (1) any liability, claims, causes of action, judgments, or expenses, including reasonable attorney fees, resulting directly or indirectly from any act or omission of the Permit holder, anyone directly or indirectly employed by them, and anyone for whose acts or omissions they may be liable, arising out of the Permit holder's use of the public right-of-way; and (2) all loss by the failure of the Permit holder to fully or adequately perform, in any respect, all authorizations or obligations under the Permit. Acceptance of Terms, Conditions, and Requirements Permit holder shall accept the terms, conditions, and requirements of the permit and agree to comply with them to the satisfaction of the Seattle Department of Transportation, Traffic Management Division. Permit holder further agrees to comply with all applicable city ordinances, including but not limited to Title 11 SMC , and all applicable requirements of state and federal law.
