Pay Station Neighborhoods: The University District
Updated August 12, 2005
SDOT will be installing new paid parking in the U-District as well as converting the existing single-space parking meters to pay stations. SDOT has scaled back the previously proposed areas for expansion after careful review of on-street parking conditions, area land uses, and community comments about the difficulties of changing from free to paid parking. More information is available in the community letter that have recently been sent to U-District residents, businesses and property owners.
SDOT hired a local transportation planning consulting firm to collect on-street parking information. Their report is available here.
