Current RFP for Bridge Rehab Program Bridge Rehabilitation & Replacement Program Information The City of Seattle, through its Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT), requests proposals from qualified consultants for multi-disciplinary work for the Bridge Rehabilitation & Replacement Program for the NE 45th Street Viaduct & Airport Way South Viaduct. This project will result in two contracts and they may be multi-phased. It is the intention of the SDOT to use the same consultant for all phases, subject to satisfactory performance by the consultant in each phase. Interested qualified consultants request the Request for Proposal packet at the following address: https://www.ebidexchange.com/seattle, or TTY 800-833-6388. Proposals must be received by Brad Stein by 4:00 PM, Friday, October 26, 2007. The electronic materials referred to in the RFP are available upon request. The existing bridge consists of a multi-span main structure attached to multi-span east and west approach structures. The initial (Phase 1) services to be performed in 2007 through early 2008 will be limited to preparing a Type, Size & Location (TS&L) Report, followed by (Phase 2) PS&E (final design) and (Phase 3) construction management services. The bridge provides access for Airport Way South over the Argo Railroad Yard. Estimated Value of Design Work - $(to be determined) Bridge Seismic Upgrades Design – Fauntleroy Expressway Project Description This project is the second phase of seismic upgrades to the Fauntleroy Expressway. This project will evaluate existing structure for the design of seismic retrofit features to the existing reinforced concrete structure. Typical features include widening beam seats, constructing column jackets, installing post-tensioning systems or foundation repairs. Estimated Value of Design Work - $(to be determined) Bridge Seismic Upgrades Design – Ballard Bascule Bridge Project Description This project will evaluate existing bascule, north and south approaches for design of seismic retrofit features to the existing structure. Retrofit options may include replacement of trunion bolts, stiffening of diagonal bracing, restrainer cables, shear walls, girder shear connectors and seat extenders.
