Car Free Days come to Seattle
A fun, affordable, healthy way to enjoy our streets
2008 Car Free Days in review
In 2008, the city piloted Car Free Days. Our goal was to open up streets for biking, walking and playing, promote healthy, affordable activities and encourage people to think about using sustainable types of transportation. This year from April to September the city is supporting art walks, farmer’s markets, parades, fundraiser 5K Walk/Run events and more by expanding these local events to include Seattle Summer Streets. Learn more about these events at: www.seattlecan.org/summerstreets. Sign up to volunteer at an event, or add your creative ideas for having fun at Seattle Summer Streets by visiting: my.greatcity.org.
