Car Free Day Activities Since we were kids we’ve been told to stay out of the streets. Car Free Day events are a way to find out what we could use our streets for if people walked, biked and took transit instead of driving. Volunteering SDOT is looking for volunteers to help monitor closed intersections and emergency lanes, and to make sure the Water Taxi Shuttle can safely move along Alki during the September 7 event.
