Project Overview
The community and Dearborn Elementary are committed to building the new sidewalk and successfully secured funding through the Neighborhood Street Fund (NSF), a city-administered program that works with communities to prioritize and build neighborhood projects.  Additional funding has been provided through a grant from the Washington State Safe Routes to School program.

Project Location
S Orcas Street between Beacon Ave S and 28th Ave S (may continue on the southside to 32nd Ave S if funding becomes available)

Project Description

  • New sidewalk, curb, and street trees proposed along S Orcas Street between Beacon Avenue S and 28th Ave S (and continuing on the southside to 32nd Avenue S if funding becomes available).
  • Potential bicycle improvements along S Orcas Street (if funding becomes available).
  • Pedestrian and bicycle programs coming to Dearborn Park Elementary

May or June 2012:  Construction begins
